In geometric terms, Torus is a ring-shaped figure popularly known as a “doughnut”, a geometric shape found throughout nature. The company Humanhood has taken this three-dimensional shape as a point of reference in its first group piece, a show that explores dynamic systems from the rhythm and interconnection of bodies. Torus swings back and forth between physical explosion and energy implosion, both for the dancers and live percussion. The dancers become an organism, a stand-alone unit. The parts form a whole, generate compositions, become space and time.
