AM I WHAT?

During the journey, bodies move mainly out of a desire to be seen. Egos emerge amidst the sweat of the crowd. Life is a journey of bodies that are desired and that move. There’s a voice that goes, “seeing, full stop”, as a foreword to a chain of reactions...
Am I what? is a hymn to the individuality of human beings before a community that tries to consume them. It is a dance piece that reflects primarily on the consumption of bodies, on the act of seeing bodies and competing to be the most visible body.

Elvi Balboa’s artistic proposals often turn public spaces and unique spaces into spaces for research and creation. It is a matter of understanding these spaces in all their wealth and magnitude: spatial, historical, social and poetic. Their artistic proposals always adapt to the environment in which they are performed, offering a perfect image of the unique and ephemeral nature of dance. Since training as a dancer, Elvi Balboa has collaborated with companies such as Ex-Nihilo and has directed her own personal projects. Am I what?, her first creation as a director, was nominated for best street show at the Pad (Andalusian Association of Dance Professionals) Awards.
