Coreografías dun DeMente is a Galician piece of dance and traditional music that features seven dancers, bespoke music and costumes, and a contemporary aesthetic. An artistic materialisation of a series of realities, stigmas and pathologies that, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in four people have suffered, continue to suffer or will suffer at some point in their lives (the virtual imprisonment of those with dementia until recently, mechanical or chemical restraints, suicide...).

The Fran Sieira dance company was set up in 2017 by the traditional Galician dancer Fran Sieira to promote Galician folklore and galvanise his artistic career. After visiting several Galician companies (GS21, Quique Peón Cía and Nova Galega de Danza), Fran Sieira premiered his first show, EntreSoños in 2018. This dance piece was chosen to represent Galician culture at the dance festival Escena Patrimonio (Toledo, 2019) and was the Galician Network of Theatres and Auditoriums’ most programmed piece. In 2021, he premiered DeMente, a piece that was to become the starting point for Coreografías dun DeMente.
