CITY HORSES

BYSTRÖM KÄLLBLAD

City Horses is a production that incorporates professional dancers from the cities where it is performed and offers these dancers the opportunity to perform in other cities. The dancers selected by Sismògraf will take part in a workshop to be held at El Graner, Centre for the Creation of Dance and Performing Arts, during the week prior to the festival.
City Horses is an artistic practice for dancers who want to feel like mares and be part of an urban choreography that reflects on the power and images of the female body in the public space. About twenty performers galloping through cities, a living monument that celebrates female courage and power, demanding public space and writing the female version of history.
Byström Källblad, creators of this proposal, are a duo formed by the artist Helena Byström and the choreographer Anna Källblad. They share a desire to tell stores about specific places based on the collaboration and exchange with their people.

City Horses is a Big Pulse Dance Alliance co-production, co-produced by Sismògraf Dance Festival (Catalonia), Julidans (The Netherlands), Tanz im August/HAU Hebbel am Ufer (Germany) and CODA Oslo International Dance Festival (Norway), co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
