EXHIBITION

Máter are the pieces that have emerged from Claudi Casanovas’ recent years of work, which lends continuity to previous projects and draws its inspiration from the Italian mystic Angela Volpini.
The exhibition consists of five stoneware and ceramic sculptures and five etchings based on these sculptures. The title refers to timeless mother goddesses: the Paleolithic Venuses, the Venus of Willendorf, the Virgin Mary...The Museum’s courtyard also plays host to three sculptures from the previous series, namely, El jardí de la Lluna Plena.
