A dance piece exploring the depths of Colombian heritage.

360º is a full turn, an exploration of Colombian roots to create a performance where rotation is the core theme. It’s a spin on its own axis, bringing us back to the initial starting point. The beginning and the end are one and the same, yet the journey is extensive, planetary and universal, encompassing everything: the simplicity of a child’s play, the virtuosity of traditional dances, even the revelry, clamour and flamboyance of carnival. Rotation is sometimes about revealing oneself, opening up to others and baring one’s soul. With a simple yet powerful gesture, 360° strives to embrace everything: the girl at play, the woman dancing, and the mother looking back to rediscover the starting point, the trigger, the origin.

Raquel Gualtero Soriano completed her education in contemporary dance at the De Theaterschool/School of the Arts in Amsterdam in 2005. As a dancer, she has gained international experience with companies such as the Scottish Dance Theatre, Roberto Zappala and Fabulous Beast, among others. On a national level, she has collaborated with artists like Àngels Margarit, Àlex Rigola, Pere Faura and Janet Novás. In her creative journey, she has produced pieces including Brut, Nuà (featured at Sismògraf 2019) and the trilogy consisting of Amaro, Orama and Panorama (presented at Sismògraf 2022). At Sismògraf 2024, 360ª will be released.
