Vortex
HUMANHOOD
Practical information and accessibility
With audio description.
Vortex is a contemporary dance piece that turns the stage into the eye of a tornado. Step into a world where rhythm unravels, gravity dissolves and energy converges...
The new dance production by Julia Robert & Rudi Cole, where the stage becomes the 'eye of the tornado'. Intuitively composed as a journey from darkness to light, the piece explores the physical and energetic phenomenon of a vortex, and how we, as human beings, can activate deep reserves of unexplored resilience to adapt and transform ourselves in the midst of chaos.
Performed by the international powerhouse HUMANHOOD dancers, the cast moves with precision and virtuosity, synchronising seamlessly with a cinematic soundscape that resonates throughout the auditorium, immersing the audience in the pulse of the dance. Between extreme physicality and spiritual elevation, Vortex takes both dancers and audience to the limits of human endurance, swept away by the hypnotic and overwhelming dynamics of a vortex.
