La lleixa de la dansa
Explica Dansa (Beatriu Daniel i Toni Jodar)
The inauguration of a shelf dedicated entirely to books about dance.
One of the shelves at the Biblioteca Marià Vayreda library will be dedicated to dance to mark Sismògraf and Sant Jordi 2026, bringing together dancers, choreographers, dance theorists and cultural journalists. Each will read a passage from their chosen book before placing it on the shelf, where it will be available to anyone who wants to discover more about dance – or simply to experience dance through reading.
With the presence and books of Catherine Allard, Inés Boza, Constanza Brncic, Lluís Calduch, Jemima Cano, Montse Colomé, Pere Faura, Roberto Fratini, Cesc Gelabert, Sònia Gómez, Toni Gómez, Juan Carlos Lérida, Àngels Margarit, Carles Mallol, Azucena Momo, Oriol Puig Taulé, Ester Vendrell i Júlia Vernet, among others! With the masters of ceremony Bàrbara Raubert and Jordi Ribot.
Explica Dansa is a project created and led by Beatriu Daniel and Toni Jodar, two professionals from the world of dance and the performing arts. After many years creating work and educating audiences, they have presented a number of danced lectures that bring contemporary dance within reach of audiences. They collaborate regularly with the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona and have been performed at Danza Escena-Red de Teatros de España and the Xarxa de Teatres de Catalunya – to leading Spanish and Catalan theatre networks. Their projects include work for the Barcelona public library network, the Petit Liceu children’s programme and lifelong learning programmes. They are currently collaborating on Balla’m un llibre (Dance Me a Book) with the Catalan public library network and the Catalan Dance Professionals Assoication. Together with Bàrbara Raubert and Jordi Ribot, they created and led the project Millor Públic (Better Audiences) for the Sismògraf festival.
