Moviment d’Olot és is a collaborative artistic creation involving professionals in the performing arts and local residents. Four groups from Olot will perform dance sessions with the company Mont de Dutor. A choreographic sequence will emerge from each session. Added together, the sequences will comprise a unique choreography, Moviment d’Olot. It is about creating a new folklore, an inclusive dance that represents and identifies us. Through this community dance project, Mont de Dutor seeks to crystallise local movement, aiming to bring out the dance of a city, a neighbourhood, a community, a specific group. What’s more, it seeks to explore the best way to preserve this dance, to pass it on and to safeguard it as intangible heritage of the city and its people.

Mont de Dutor is an artistic duo formed by Jorge Dutor and Guillem Mont de Palol, stage creators and performers who have been working together since 2009. Their proposals often explore the boundaries of various disciplines such as dance, architecture, theatre and opera, as well as their political and social realms of influence. The duo is fervently committed to one principle: to be on the sidelines and not at the centre of things as an ideological standpoint. They use humour, the absurd, repetition and music to make live arts more accessible to all audiences. Their entire artistic production, from ¿Y por qué John Cage? (2011) to Salir del Armario (2020), talks about themselves and plays on fiction.
